Brain Dead

a great way to wait for my hair to naturally dry is to post a blog entry...

woah! it's been yonks since my last proper entry. so what has happened since then?

basically in chronological order...
1) exams have finished
2) turned 21
3) went to surfers' paradise
4) went to wollongong
5) went into depression due to fear of failing uni subjects
6) recovered from depression from getting my results back
7) been out a few times with my friends... yeh, dinner and hanging out and all...

after skimming through the past month or so, i can talk about today...

met up with jo at about mid-day so we could go to newtown to shop and hang out. stupid trains were stuffing up because of train track works, so we had to catch a rail bus from ashfield to newtown. jo shouted me a red bean icy pop. it was really nice! yay!

first stop, an illegal, market style store where these jap chics were selling things ranging from $1 to $10. literally. i spent a total of $20.50 and managed to acquire:

1) 2 tank tops
2) 3 tops
3) 1 skirt wannabe top
4) 4 souffle containers so i can make my own souffle
5) 1 *the snowman* mug

i had to carry these things all day as we criss-crossed king street at newtown. but from what jo had told me, we have only seen 1/3 of king street. but the main problem is, a lot of the clothes stores have changed to restraunts. daymn...

why did i buy so much from those jap chics (1 could literally speak fluent french) and a true blue french guy (literally, with an accent and all)? because jo and i thought they were THAT out of cash to survive in australia. i wasnt planning on buying so much especially from (2) onwards. but then, christine recons they were 賤賣-ing their things because they cant fit everything in their suitcases on their trip back to japan. i just wish i knew at the time... well, for whatever reason they were 賤賣-ing their possessions, one man's junk is another's treasure, is all i shall say...

there are all these weird stuff on sale on king street, ranging from really pretty to really cool to really odd to just funky. i have finally physically touched a florence braodhurst bag today. it was a bit of an anti-climax because of the actual design of the bag. the materials were nice, the patterns werent there and the price was just piss-i-ly exaggerated. but hey, at least i got to touch it rather than just look at these things in magazines.

lunch killed the whole atmosphere when i had to settle for 2nd best at a cafe. the menu did not specify onions and the chef was too arrogant to make me a new plate, so i had to pick out the finely chopped onions from my dish. it sucked and im still feeling bloated from it... i've been farting all day, the most at newtown so the wind could just carry it away (hahahahahaha) but i guess i've learnt a great lesson today: always ask what they have in their food... ><""

jo and i pretty much didnt spend again at newtown. the shops just didnt have anything that motivated a spending impluse. there was one particular shop where jo and i were REALLY close to spending... very sad but true, the store is just like the HUNDREDS of stores around Hong Kong... 銅鑼灣, 旺角, TST... even 柴灣... full hk-ie fashion to the max. the style, the colours, even the prices matched hk-ie dollar values. what i mean by that is, a top you can get for HKD$120 is literally priced at AUD$120. i know, it's all economics, but that sucks totally.

jo and i then left for dinner at strattie. the bus trip back to ashfield was a tiring one and as i was trying to rest, i banged my head on the bus window, right on the area of my head where the hair pin was. the pain. the shock. guess what, i woke up. no more brain dead. more like brain killed...

we just werent hungry. honest. for some weird reason, and under very profound conditions, jo and i coincidentally saw jo's dad waiting for jo's mum and their family friends outside strattie plaza. it turned out that jo's mum and their friends were already in the restraunt. such a strange coincidence. it was like as if jo and i were meant to see him before dinner or something.

so we went to this krn restraunt which had no vegetarian food whatsoever. but i wasnt hungry at that time. after that we went to another restraunt for ice cream. jo and i were so bored and tired, we started to act like year 9 chics who have reached their peak of puberty... thinking back, i feel sorry for the waiter who had to put up with our giggles and stares haahahahahaha he wasnt hot or anything, but just in the wrong place at the wrong time. hahahahaha

when jo went to pay for the ice cream, i felt really bad for having jo to shout me any more food, so i neaked some money into the back zipper pocket of her hand bag... we were being so asn tonight, fighting over who's paying... so i thought sneaking that in her bag while she wasnt with her bag was the simplest, quickest and best way to solve my dilemma. =) and she'll get a surprise next time when she opens that pocket! yay!

met up with christine and she drove us to burwood so we could all go to ANOTHER cafe. christine was hungry. what can we do? =) i told a guy who i thought was just a random waitor at the cafe to wipe our table properly. it turned out he was the owner of the place. when we were leaving, i went and paid my due respect and gratitude to the owner. =) just too nice...

went back to jo's place and watched law n order and criminal intent. the two stories were stupidly similar tonight... women killing other women for a man. men are just not worth such sacrifices, sisters! what did the men do in the end? they left you! didnt even pity you ONE BIT.

jo's house is so pretty and big and her parents are nice as well, even though i didnt really get to meet them. im sure i will get to meet them properly next time!

christine drove me home then... way past my curfew. i hope my parents get over it soon... =(

today was a long day and i had heaps of fun.

SHOUT OUT: MR & MRS CHEUNG, THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME OVER! CHRISTINE, YOU'RE NOT AS TALKATIVE AS ME! bahahaha! JO!!! Newtown was an anti-climax but it wouldnt have been the same without you!

love you guys heaps!

until next time something cool happens, tata la!
